Fuel Cells
Where Value Hides in Fuel Cell Manufacturing
Producing a Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) is a precision process where material accountability is vital. Catalyst is applied through printing inks, platinum black slurries, decal transfers, and direct-coat dispersions. The overspray, masking material, screen washings, edge trim, and unused catalyst ink waste from those operations all carry significant platinum content.
Across the broader operation, rejected MEAs, end plates, gaskets, edge-sealed assemblies, and electrolyzer scrap accumulate quickly and the platinum, palladium, gold and other precious metals are recoverable.
Noble Metal Services works with hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyzer manufacturers to capture that material.
Our capabilities include:
- Recovery of platinum, gold and other precious metals from MEAs, fuel cell stack assemblies, and electrolyzer scrap
- Processing of catalyst ink waste, platinum black overspray, decal trim, and screen-printing residues
- Reclamation of gold from bipolar plates and gold interface coatings
- Recovery from coating bath residue and spent plating bath
- Handling of rejected components, end plates, and edge-trimmed assemblies
- Transparent settlement and timely reporting
Capture More Value From Every Stack
We help hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyzer manufacturers recover precious metals with the consistency our customers have come to appreciate, supporting efficiency, margin, and sustainability in one of the fastest-growing segments of the clean energy market.
