Diamond and Gemstone Recovery
Recovering Value
The jewelry and pawnbroker industries generate substantial amounts of scrap that contain diamonds and gemstones. At times, the value of the stones far exceeds their precious metal content. Incoming lots are often a mixture of diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, and synthetic stones set in gold, silver, and platinum.
At Noble Metal Services, our proprietary separation process is multi-stepped and chemically based, which ensures that your stones are returned to you in pristine, readily saleable condition. You also have the option of selling to our reputable third-party buyers.
Our Process
- Chemical digestion dissolves precious metal into a controlled acid solution, separating it from non-metallic materials. Diamonds and other gemstones are released during the process, carefully collected, and preserved for return to the customer or if requested, sold to a reputable source on behalf of the customer.
- The precious metals are then recovered through controlled precipitation, producing a high purity concentrate for refining. To facilitate gemstone identification and sorting, specialized washing techniques frost the surface of cubic zirconia, making it readily distinguishable from natural diamonds.
- Following final rinsing, drying, and quality inspection, all recovered diamonds and gemstones are organized into parcels and held pending the customer’s instructions regarding the final disposition of the stones. Customers may either request the return of their stones or authorize us to facilitate the sale on their behalf.
Don’t Leave Value Behind
Precious metals aren’t the only source of value. By identifying and recovering diamonds and gemstones before refining, we help ensure you capture everything your material has to offer.
